Who are we looking for?

Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking to appoint a qualified, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Engineering team to deliver and lead on a range of full-time programmes.

Applicants will require working knowledge and experience within the areas of Engineering and Manufacturing with a focus on technical skills and machining, CNC experience would be desirable. You will teach across a range of Engineering courses and modules aligned to your occupational skill set in order to deliver a high quality provision to our learners. In this role you will be required to demonstrate innovative teaching and learning, coupled with excellent communication skills to motivate and guide learners to succeed.

Applicants will ideally hold a relevant Higher Education qualification in Engineering or related subjects and have industrial experience alongside appropriate teaching and assessing qualifications. The College welcomes applications from vocational specialists who desire to pursue a career in further education and is therefore prepared to offer training for individuals to gain a recognised teaching qualification alongside this role.

For industry professionals looking to move into teaching in further education there is also the opportunity to apply for government grant scheme with payments of up to £6,000 per annum, whilst studying teacher training programmes.
