Astute Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with a fantastic customer focused and forward-thinking business who are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their exciting and vibrant team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Based in Swadlincote, you will be responsible for running payroll and various transactional finance duties.
Duties:
- Maintenance of monthly payroll systems
- Maintenance of the pension database for the company scheme and setting up monthly direct debit ensuring investment of funds
- Preparing monthly PAYE and NI
- Processing of company payments, keeping in line with available funds
- Reconciling the daily cash book
- Preparing payments for the general and purchase ledgers
- Allocating and posting cash for the sales ledger
- Carry out credit checks/ insurance checks for new customers while issuing credit limits
- Take care of all queries relating to the sales ledger
- Preparation and consolidation of payroll through payroll bureau, ensuring accurate payments
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience doing end to end Payroll, this is an essential requirement
- Attention to detail and input accuracy
- Knowledge and understanding of both ledgers
- Experience in submitting company VAT returns
- Excellent prioritisation skills
Salary and Benefits:
- 37-hour week 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday, (45 mins break Monday to Wednesday, 30 mins on Thursday)
- Friday early finish (8:30 am to 2:00pm)
- 29 days annual leave including bank holidays
- Salary up to 30,000 depending on experience
