Role Overview We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support mechanical construction projects across the UK and Europe, specialising in the design and installation of storage tank systems. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with CDM and HSE legislation, manage site safety documentation, and promote a strong culture of safety and wellbeing across all project sites.
Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Principal Contractor and Client representatives to fulfil all HSE and CDM duties.
  • Advise project teams on compliance with HSE regulations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Develop, review, and maintain all site documentation, including Health & Safety Plans, Site Diaries, and Construction Phase Plans.
  • Prepare and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and other H&S documentation.
  • Oversee day-to-day site activities to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks to maintain safety standards.
  • Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with UK and European offices (including the Euro Africa Region and HMT Netherlands) to align HSE standards across international operations.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (minimum).
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, tank fabrication, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage safety documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (assignments in the Netherlands and other European sites).
Desirable
  • Experience working within COMAH or high-risk environments.
  • Membership of IOSH or similar professional body.
  • Previous exposure to large-scale tank construction or mechanical installation projects.
