Our client is a fast-growing and forward-thinking specialist in renewable energy solutions, focusing on Solar PV installations and Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure for commercial and domestic clients across the UK.

As they continue to scale their operations, they are seeking a Junior Estimator to support the commercial team in costing and preparing tenders for renewable energy projects.

The Junior Estimator will assist in the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for solar and EV charging installations. Junior Estimator

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and quotations for Solar PV and EV charging projects.
  • Interpret technical drawings, site survey data, and specifications to compile pricing information.
  • Request and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes.
  • Maintain and update a pricing database for labour, materials, and equipment.
  • Support the Estimating and Sales team with bid documentation, proposals, and tender returns.
  • Liaise with project managers, designers, and suppliers to ensure accurate costings.
  • Participate in site visits or remote surveys to collect project-specific information.
  • Work with the senior estimator to refine systems and improve pricing accuracy.

Key Requirements

  • Some prior experience or understanding of estimating, construction, M&E, or renewable energy is preferred.
  • Keen interest in renewable technologies, especially solar and EV.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and numerically confident.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop with support from a senior team.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
