Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist with specialist knowledge in Hand Therapy to join the team at Morriston Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a regional centre for plastics and trauma, providing high-level assessment and rehabilitation services to patients recovering from complex hand injuries and surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:

Assess and treat patients with acute and chronic hand conditions, including post-operative and trauma cases

Deliver tailored therapy programmes to improve function, reduce pain, and maximise hand mobility

Fabricate and fit specialist splints and orthotics as part of the rehabilitation process

Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team within the Regional Plastics Service

Educate patients on home exercise plans and recovery pathways

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Support service improvement initiatives and supervise junior staff as needed
Key Requirements:

Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
-
Substantial experience in Hand Therapy, ideally at Band 6 or 7 level

Competency in treating both Plastics and Trauma patients

Advanced splinting and orthotic fabrication skills

Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and teamworking skills

Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload
