TeacherActive are proud to be working with a Neath primary school. The Head Teacher is looking to appoint a responsible, reliable person for the post of Teaching Assistant. The post will be temporary until 31st August 2026 due to an increase in pupil numbers. The role will require the successful applicant to work with groups of children and form part of a team of teaching assistants working across the primary phase on a full-time basis.Â
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Childcare
- GCSE Maths and English, grade C or above
- Experience of working in a school environment (minimum of 6 months)
- Experience of working with pupils with a range of additional learning needs
- Experience of working with teachers in lesson planning, and evaluation and assessment
- Knowledge of strategies that are effective in supporting and managing small groups of pupils
- Trained in and able to deliver a range of programmes to support pupils with additional learning needs
- Trained in ELSA (or equivalent) to deliver a range of programmes to support pupils with SEBD needs
- Confident with intimate care including personal hygiene routines, e.g. toilet training, changing of incontinent children, dressing and undressing; the changing of soiled clothing and its disposal in an appropriate way
