Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive are proud to be working with a primary school on the outskirts of Swansea who wish to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Foundation Phase Teaching Assistant on a one-to-one basis. This role will be full-time and starting after Easter for the right person. 

The role will be exciting, working one-to-one with pupils in their new Foundation Phase department with children aged 3-5 years (Pre-School and Reception).

The role will enable you to support children both academically and developmentally. The successful candidates will be passionate about Early Years and have an understanding and experience of working with children aged 3-5 . You will be able to demonstrate a range of skills in managing pupil’s emotions in a proactive, positive and supportive way, enabling them to get the very best out of their learning and development.

TeacherActive are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate who:

• Will have relevant experience of working with children (minimum of 6 months)
• Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
• Will be required to work under the direction of the class teacher
• Responsible for working with an individual pupil and small groups
• Will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given solutions with integrity and compassion
• Has the ability to encourage every child to learn and achieve and has enthusiasm, skill and desire to make a difference
• Can plan, prepare and promote constructive play during the lunchtime period
