Vetro Education is working with a forward-thinking and welcoming SEN School in Swansea to recruit several Teaching Assistants for part time and full time roles with an immediate start. The successful Teaching Assistants will be required on an ongoing, long term basis.

This opportunity will be perfect for Teaching Assistants who have experience working with children with SEN/ALN, support workers looking for a change in career or anyone with non-school based experience working with additional learning needs.

  • Location: Swansea
  • Pay: 88.92 - 95.00 per day
  • Working pattern - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm


The successful applicant will join a friendly team in this SEN School and provide both one-to-one and general support to learners who require it. The work you do will make a real difference to these children's lives as you will be instrumental in their well-being and education.
The start time is 8.30 am and you will finish at 3.30 pm, with 30 minutes for lunch. There are full-time and part time roles available for the right candidates.


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A keen interest in working with children
  • Experience (paid or voluntary) working with Children and/or in the care sector
  • Previous experience with Special Educational Needs would be beneficial
  • Open to training and development
  • Proactive attitude towards work
  • A good understanding of Special Educational Needs/Additional Learning Needs
  • The ability to provide a range of support to pupils
  • A patient and understanding attitude
  • The ability to work as part of a team

Essentials for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Fully Enhanced DBS certificate (on the DBS update service or be able to obtain a new one)
  • EWC registration as a school learning support worker
  • Minimum of 3 months industry-specific experience
  • Minimum of 2 references covering the last two years of employment/study/voluntary work
  • Have the Right To Work in the UK
