Locum Adult Social Workers – Community Learning Disability TeamSwansea City and County Council3-Month Temporary Contract | Full Time (37 hours per week) | Hybrid WorkingSwansea City and County Council is currently seeking two dedicated and experienced Locum Social Workers to join Adult Services. These full-time positions offer a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of adults with learning disabilities in the community, while working within a supportive and forward-thinking local authority.Available Roles:
  • 1 x Social Worker – Transitions Team
  • 1 x Social Worker – Adults Team(Both roles are within the Community Learning Disability Team)
Role Overview: You will be responsible for providing high-quality statutory social work with adults with learning disabilities and/or those in transition to adult services. The roles will involve:
  • Undertaking assessments and reviews under relevant legislation
  • Supporting safeguarding and welfare interventions
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary setting to promote independence, inclusion and person-centred planning
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records using the WCCIS system
These are hybrid positions with an expectation to work from home, the Guildhall in Swansea and undertake face-to-face visits as required. This will include safeguarding and welfare assessments in the community.
  • Qualified Social Worker status and current registration with Social Care Wales
  • Experience in adult social work ideally within learning disabilities or transitions
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014)
  • Familiarity with WCCIS is highly advantageous
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel to appointments within the Swansea area
