We are seeking reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 and 2 drivers to join ourteam. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively.
Duties
- Operate a flatbed lorry to deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving on public roads.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV licence.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving a flatbed lorry.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS technology.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo safely.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members and clients effectively.
Requirements
- Valid Category C Licence
- Proven experience as a delivery driver
