SEND Teaching Assistant - SEMH Specialist

If you're passionate about supporting children who have SEND & SEMH needs, this is the role for you. Use your knowledge, experience and expertise to work for us as an Education Specialist at Monarch Education.

We are representing a large all through School in Swindon that have multiple roles for SEND Teaching Assistants to start immediately. The school has fantastic facilities and is a good school with outstanding features according to the last Ofsted inspection June 2022 and it has a dynamic and alternative curriculum for pupils requiring additional support and care within their education environment.

You'll be working 1:1with a child with an ECHP until 11:30am and then supporting with SEMH interventions in the afternoon. The placement is initially temporary but has the potential to be permanent should both parties be happy following an induction period

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students with SEMH in the classroom, helping them stay engaged and focused.
  • Working one-to-one or in small groups to deliver tailored learning and emotional support.
  • Helping with sensory activities and structured routines.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson prep and classroom organisation.
  • Encouraging independence and celebrating small wins every day.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, especially SEMH.
  • Someone who's caring, reliable, and not afraid to get stuck in.
  • Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Any relevant training (e.g. Autism Awareness, Team Teach) is a bonus-but not essential.
