Site Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water Infrastructure
Location: Swindon area
Start: ASAP
Contract: Long term contract
Rate: Up to £490 per day (Umbrella)
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next role in water infrastructure? My client, a main contractor delivering clean water civils projects, has an immediate opportunity to join the commercial team supporting multiple live schemes.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for looking after the commercial aspects of the project, including:
- Populating monthly reports (CVR / DES)
- Submitting client AFPs
- Carrying out project procurement (labour, plant, materials and subcontract packages)
- Assessing supply chain AFPs and supporting compilation of final accounts
- Cost control and driving value through the project
- Mitigating project risks and managing change (Early Warnings / Variations)
- Maximising cash collection and maintaining strong commercial control
You will also:
- Administer the principal contract, including NEC and IChemE Burgundy Book (JCT beneficial)
- Provide VOWD and demand forecasting with robust cost control
- Work closely with delivery teams to support safe and efficient delivery
- Identify opportunities to improve value and margin
Skills and Experience
- Degree, HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, or substantial relevant experience
- Experience in water, utilities or civil infrastructure
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, JCT and IChemE experience beneficial
- Proactive approach to risk and opportunity management
- Intermediate to advanced Excel, confident handling large data sets
- Full UK driving licence
