. Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee parking management, including staff, on and off-street parking, and traffic enforcement.

  • Advise and support in developing parking policies and objectives.

  • Maintain and implement the Council's parking strategy and ensure compliance with relevant laws.

  • Manage parking contractors to meet customer service standards and legal guidelines.

  • Lead parking contract development and procurement.

  • Oversee parking IT systems and manage parking assets like signs and payment machines.

  • Manage off-street car parks and support EV charging operations.

  • Monitor local and corporate performance metrics.

  • Lead and manage the Parking Team, including staff development and performance reviews.

  • Provide advice to Cabinet members on policy and project implementation.

  • Manage the parking budget and contribute to financial strategy.

Person Specifications
Must Have

  • Experience in parking management within a Local Authority.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Experience in team development and management.

  • Strategic decision-making skills.

  • Data analysis and project management skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant parking legislation.

  • Budget management experience.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and Parking IT Systems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in liaising with local and national organizations for best practices.

  • Ability to adapt to the political context and advise senior management.
