A specialist mental health school in Swindon are seeking a Criminology Graduate to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who face a range of social, emotional and mental health challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, attachment needs, and low self-esteem. Your role will be crucial in helping them navigate the school day, providing academic guidance and therapeutic support.

Your daily duties will include:

  • Working 1:1 and in small groups with vulnerable students.
  • Learning and implementing a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach within the classroom.
  • Helping students build confidence, resilience and emotional regulation skills.
  • Tutoring students in key subject areas, particularly where they are less confident.
  • Collaborating with Teachers, Therapists and other support staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate looking to build hands-on experience in a mental health and behavioural setting. The school are seeking a graduate who is confident, proactive, with a calm and supportive outlook. Previous experience working with children and/or vulnerable individuals would be beneficial, but not essential.
