Job Title: Vehicle Mechanic (PSV/HGV)
Location: Swindon
Salary: 45,000 per annum

Thrive Group are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable transport operator in the Swindon area, seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Mechanic to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repairs on a modern fleet of PSV and HGV vehicles
Diagnose faults and carry out timely, high-quality repairs
Maintain accurate records using digital inspection systems
Work collaboratively with a close-knit workshop team
Participate in a weekend on-call rota (one weekend per month)
Work alternate Saturday mornings (1 in 2)
Requirements:
Previous experience as a mechanic/technician in a PSV or HGV environment
NVQ Level 3 in HGV or similar qualification
IRTEC accreditation (or willingness to obtain - fully supported)
PSV licence desirable, but not essential - training provided
Commitment to safe working practices and high-quality standards
Strong communication and record-keeping skills
Working Hours:
Average of 46.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday core hours (e.g., 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM), with some flexibility
1 Saturday morning every other week
On-call requirement 1 weekend per month
