Teacher of Science - North Yorkshire

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school community in North Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed practitioner to inspire a love of science and spark curiosity in students through engaging, practical, and thought-provoking lessons. The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 and contribute to a strong culture of academic achievement and enrichment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students of all abilities across KS3 and KS4
  • Inspire interest in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics through engaging and practical approaches
  • Plan and deliver well-structured schemes of work that develop students’ knowledge, skills, and scientific thinking
  • Support and promote extracurricular STEM activities such as clubs, trips, and competitions
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Science curriculum and assessment strategies
  • Promote positive behaviour and uphold the school’s high expectations and values
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department and the wider school community

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A degree in a science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline)
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management
  • Passion for fostering curiosity and critical thinking in students
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all young people
