About the RoleAs Deputy Headteacher, you will play a leading role in the day-to-day management of the school, with a particular focus on curriculum design, quality of education, and behaviour and attitudes. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders, you will help maintain a safe, supportive and aspirational learning environment where all students can succeed. We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join a thriving school in Brighton from September 2025 on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a pivotal role that will support the Headteacher in shaping the strategic direction of the school, driving academic excellence, and embedding a culture of high expectations.

You'll be part of a broader group of schools known for their unwavering focus on high-quality specialist education. Having recently welcomed a new school in Tadworth, Surrey - an independent setting providing exceptional support for pupils with autism and complex needs - we are building on this success and expanding our leadership team in Brighton.
This is a full-time, permanent post starting in September 2025.
Key Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Minimum of 2 years' senior leadership experience (as Deputy, Assistant Head or similar)
- Proven experience in SEND and/or specialist provision
- Deep understanding of Autism, SEMH and associated neurodiverse conditions
- Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding

- Lead and inspire a committed team of teachers and support staff
- Manage school performance targets and improvement plans
- Deliver and monitor staff training and professional development
- Promote a culture of high expectations and celebration of progress
- Represent the school in reviews, inspections, and stakeholder events
- Support staff through coaching, observation, and constructive feedback
- Lead on pastoral and inclusion initiatives
