Reed Education are working exclusively with an independent specialist day school recently rated Good by Ofsted, who are looking for a talented Deputy Head Teacher and contribute to a nurturing environment that caters to pupils with autism and additional needs. As a Deputy Head Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience and outcomes of our students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

Day-to-Day of the Role:
  • Work closely with the Head Teacher to set and implement the vision and strategic direction for the school.
  • Ensure the school has the right people and plans in place to support our young people in feeling proud of their achievements.
  • Lead and manage the school alongside the Head Teacher, focusing on high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Engage in and promote continuous professional development for yourself and your team.
  • Foster an environment that celebrates "huge small victories" — significant milestones in our students' educational journeys.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership and management experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the educational needs of students with ASD, SEMH, and other related conditions.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop a cohesive and professional staff team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in teaching quality and student outcomes.
