EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer, located inTamworththat is currently in the market for aSupplier Quality Engineer (SQE)to join their company on aPermanentbasis.

This market leader is a well-established entity within the precision engineering industries and boasts a rich history of supporting globally recognised customers with safety-critical, highly complex components.

Due to internal changes and off the back of continued success, our client is seeking aSupplier Quality Engineer (SQE)to enhance overall supplier performance, ensure IATF16949 compliance, and drive continuous improvement within the supply base.

As aSupplier Quality Engineer (SQE), you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining the OE supplier base to the highest standards of Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD)

  • Utilising APQP and PPAP processes for new and existing projects on externally sourced components and subcontracted processes

  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure products and processes meet engineering specifications and customer-specific requirements

  • Driving the resolution of quality issues using appropriate problem-solving methodologies and initiating rapid containment actions for non-conformances

  • Conducting supplier visits and audits, maintaining relevant supplier records, and driving supplier development activities

  • Carrying out internal system and process audits related to Quality & Environmental Management systems (IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001) and monitoring supplier performance

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Familiarityand hands-on experience with quality systems, including balanced scorecards, 8Ds, 5 Whys, and process improvement

  • A strong engineering background with the ability to interpret geometric tolerances and understand complex engineering drawings

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in metal industries such as casting, forging, or pressing

  • An understanding of quality tools such as PPAP, APQP, and PFMEAs

  • A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude, with the ability to take on tasks independently

  • A full driving license for supplier visits
