- Ensure vehicles are loaded safely and correctly, with goods secured for transit.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections, reporting any issues or shortages.
- Comply with all driving legislation, including tachograph usage, driver hours and rest breaks.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any faults or concerns promptly to the Transport Manager.
- Drive responsibly and courteously at all times, acting as a representative of the company.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and roadworthy vehicle.
- Use mechanical handling equipment (MHE) where necessary and be willing to manually unload goods where required – this may include heavy lifting.
- Complete delivery and collection documentation accurately, including electronic proof of delivery (ePODs).
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and courtesy when dealing with customers and colleagues.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments including Sales, Transport and Customer Service teams.
- Support the collection of quality empty pallets for reuse and recycling purposes.
- Follow company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal systems and safety standards.
- Valid HGV Class 1 or 2 licence with up-to-date CPC and digital tachograph card.
- Proven experience in a similar multi-drop or national delivery role preferred.
- Strong awareness of road safety and transport legislation.
- A team player with a professional, customer-focused approach.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling when required.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
