You will be joining a fast-pace environment assisting infinding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on providing customs clearance for air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.
Job Description
As a Freight Customs Supervisor you will report in to the Shipping & Customs Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the amworth in the West Midlands office.
- Managing a team of 5x customs brokerage agents.
- Managing the team and assisting with inputting of road, air, sea freight clearances into CDS / CHIEF using a variety of software such as Destin8.
- Responsible for preparing road, air and sea freight documentation for customs entries- such as export packing lists, certificates of origin, EUR1s, ATR1s, dual use licensing,port charges, cost of special documents, etc..
- Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's)and arranging billings for VAT/Duties
- Ensuring, booking and conducting of full end-to-end customs clearance.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have an expansive background in customs compliance within thefreight forwarding industry. The ideal Freight Customs Supervisorwill have the following skills and experience:
- 3+ year's experience in customs and/or customs compliance
- Desire to conduct team leadership of ideally 3+ individuals
- Experience of using CDS or CHIEF software for customs entries
- Desirable experience of compliance such as AEO, Letter of Credit Documentation, IPR and/or OPR.
- Knowledge of INCOTerms & Export Licensingis advantageous but not essential
- Commutable to Tamworth in the West Midlands on a hybrid basis.
