Mortgage Underwriter

We are currently working with a fantastic brokerage. We are looking for a Underwriter to join the team

The main responsibility of the Underwriter is to take ownership of all cases allocated to you.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and underwriting all loan documentation, including valuation reports.
  • Requesting additional information where required.
  • Highlighting any concerns regarding the application and documentation.
  • Carrying out checks on applicants and properties.
  • Assessing suitability for the loan applied for.
  • Proactively chasing outstanding information.
  • Ensuring timely updates to all parties.
  • Recommending and referring cases to the Credit Committee where approval is required.
  • Liaising with introducers, valuers and solicitors and applicants.

Skills and experience:

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Articulate.
  • Well organised.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A good understanding of FCA regulations.
  • Mortgage Underwriting experience
  • CeMap qualified (ideally)
