Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for a Import Operations Coordinator to joing their office in Tamworth.
Job brief:
We are looking for a competent Import Co-ordinator to facilitate the supply chain operations of imports from world wide destinations to achieve the effective distribution of goods. A great asset for an Import Co-ordinator is their communication and negotiation skills, together with a knowledge of supply management principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have great record-keeping abilities and a customer-oriented approach.
The goal is to ensure the smooth operations of a variety of channels aiming for maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
- Co-ordinate and monitor supply chain operations
- Utilize logistics IT to optimize shipping and transport procedures
- Plan, book and track import shipments
- Communicate with overseas suppliers, UK clients / agents / shipping lines.
- Handle UK arrival ops & costings.
- Releases with shipping lines checking legal documents of title prior to release of cargoes.
- Arranging UK customs clearance / deliveries.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as import ops.
- Experience in customer service
- Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software
- Outstanding organizational and co-ordination abilities
- Excellent communication skills
