An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Road Freight Coordinator to join a growing logistics team based in Tamworth. This position focuses on handling European road freight shipments arriving into the UK, ensuring smooth and efficient operations from start to finish.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Contract: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
Location: Tamworth (office-based)
Salary: 25,000 - 28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the movement of import and export consignments by road between the UK and Europe.
- Support the department's commercial goals by ensuring smooth logistics operations, accurate documentation, and on-time delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, agents, and subcontractors, ensuring service excellence in line with company SOPs.
- Complete all import/export and invoicing processes accurately, ensuring compliance with legal and financial requirements.
- Ensure all operational milestones are achieved within agreed timeframes.
- Work closely with sales and customer service teams, sharing new business leads and providing shipment updates.
- Prepare and send customer quotations promptly and maintain consistent record-keeping within company systems.
- Assist with credit control by following up on overdue payments when required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a road freight forwarding or similar logistics coordination role (UK-based).
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal English skills.
- IT proficient - comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CRM/logistics systems.
- Strong administrative ability with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving capability.
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently when required.
