Location of the HGV Shift Supervisor / Charge Hand / Senior HGV Mechanic / HGV Workshop Foreman / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / LGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic: Near Tamworth

Salary for the HGV Technician: £45,000 - £52,000 pa plus overtime, Negotiable depending on skills and experience

Hours of work for the HGV Shift Supervisor / Charge Hand / Senior HGV Mechanic / HGV Workshop Foreman / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / LGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic:
SHIFT SUPERVISOR - Monday to Friday early and late shift (06:00am -14:30pm and 14:00pm to 22:30pm)
HGV TECHNICIAN - Monday to Friday early and late shift (06:00am - 14:30pm and 14:00pm - 22:30pm)
HGV TECHNICIAN - Monday to Friday days (07:00am - 15:30pm and 10:00am - 18:30pm)

My client is looking for an experienced HGV Shift Supervisor Technician responsible for maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to MOT standard. They are also looking for HGV Technicians on various shifts.

Tasks for the HGV Shift Supervisor / Charge Hand / Senior HGV Mechanic / HGV Workshop Foreman / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / LGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standard Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
  • Attend disabled vehicles at the roadside or at customers premises
  • Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
  • Liaise with parts department to attain parts Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
  • Ensure appropriate clocking is made, all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
  • Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses

The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the HGV Technicians on shift and supervising daily tasks.

Your experience / skills as a HGV Shift Supervisor / Charge Hand / Senior HGV Mechanic / HGV Workshop Foreman / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / LGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic:

  • Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles
  • Current driving licence
  • LGV/HGV licence (advantage)
  • ADR (advantage)
