Contek Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a reputable precision engineering company, located inTamworth, West Midlands. Due to continued success and growth, they are now looking for an experiencedBusiness Development Managerto join the team on afull-time, permanentbasis.
ABOUT THE COMPANY:The company specialises in delivering both precision machining and sub-contract machining solutions, defence project work and the design and manufacture of superior quality work-holding solutions. Founded in the UK, in 1939, they has been working with customers to turn complex ideas and concepts into solutions for over 85years and has built an exemplary international reputation.
Our client predominantly supply the nuclear, aerospace and defence, medical, machine tool, automotive, and power generation sectors. The customer base includes blue-chip organisations such as Rolls Royce, Boeing, Siemens, and Toyota to name only a few.
WORKING HOURS:39 hours per week - Monday to Thursday, with a 12:30pm finish on a Friday.
SALARY/PAY:£50,000 - £60,000 per year (Dependent on experience)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To act as the company soleBusiness Development Manager, promoting their on-site services on a UK-wide basis. These services are their specialist manufacture of bespoke workholding solutions, and also their specialist subcontract machining services to the Aerospace and Defence industries.
- Generation of new leads, customers and enquiries for all departments within the UK operations.
- Customer liaison, negotiation and closing of contracts with customers.
- To represent the company within all markets,and help develop sales and marketing activities for the development of new business areas.
- To support the company management in their efforts to develop their specific departments.
- To represent the companywhen they participate in exhibitions in order to promote their specialist services and generate new leads.
- To assist the management team with the preparation of technical proposals and quotations.
- To identify new opportunities, untapped geographic locations and potential customers.
- To help to generate new business and maintain customer contacts.
PERSON REQUIREMENTS:
- A background within sales/business development and a proven track record of successfully securing new opportunities is required.
- Previous experience within business development based around specialist manufacturing and subcontract precision machining is required.
- The ability to identify, evaluate, and select key target areas, and then proactively develop new business to achieve significant and increasing sales revenue.
- A committed and driven approach to work.

PACKAGE:
- Base salary of £50k-£60k.

COMMISSION STRUCTURE
Up to £250k of net sales 2%
Between £350k to £500k of net sales 3%
