We are looking for a motivated Tool Room Engineer to join a market leading manufacturer within their field. You will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of setting within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. The position will appeal to a strong engineer looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.

Role Description:

  • Repair, service, and refurbish injection moulding tools to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with the agreed schedule.
  • Respond promptly to tooling breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement effective corrective actions to minimise production downtime.
  • Evaluate tooling issues to determine whether repairs can be completed in-press or require transfer to the Tool Room.
  • Confidently work on tools within the press environment.
  • Accurately estimate job durations and communicate potential delays or risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Promptly escalate any safety concerns or risks of tool damage through the appropriate channels.
  • Report root causes of tooling failures and ongoing concerns to engineering management.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with relevant quality and safety regulations.
  • Support production targets by maintaining consistent tooling quality and reliability.
  • Identify, record, and manage spare parts usage and requirements.
  • Take ownership of assigned tool suites, ensuring reliable performance with minimal supervision.
  • Operate forklift trucks and lifting equipment safely and in accordance with regulations.
  • Support new tooling projects from commissioning through to full production launch.
  • Maintain accurate tooling history, records, and documentation within the Tool Room database.
  • Carry out engineering-level modifications and improvements to tooling as required
