Prospero Teaching is working closely with a secondary school in Taunton who are seeking a committed and proactive School Engagement Officer to join their Student Services team. This is a student-facing role focused on safeguarding, attendance, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and implementation of attendance strategies, including home visits and liaison with families
  • Lead individual and group interventions to improve student attendance and punctuality
  • Prioritise support for disadvantaged students and those with persistent absence
  • Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, maintaining high standards of safeguarding practice
  • Collaborate with teaching, pastoral, and external teams to support student welfare
  • Monitor attendance data, complete statutory returns, and maintain accurate records
  • Promote positive attitudes toward learning, behaviour, and attendance
  • Uphold school policies including safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection
