Outreach Support Workers (BSL Level 2+) – Somerset

Do you have British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 (or above) training and want to use your skills to support individuals in their community?

We are seeking dedicated Outreach Support Workers in Somerset to provide personalised, non-regulated support to individuals experiencing hearing loss and communication barriers.

The Role

As an Outreach Support Worker, you will:

• Work directly with individuals in their homes and communities, providing practical and emotional support.

• Help people manage daily living tasks such as household organisation, attending appointments, shopping, and engaging in social activities.

• Reduce isolation by empowering individuals to build independence, confidence, and community connections.

• Collaborate with other professionals, services, and agencies, ensuring individuals access the support and resources they need.

• Advocate for the rights, needs, and well-being of those you support.

What We’re Looking For

• BSL Level 2 qualification (minimum) – higher levels welcome.

• Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.

• A genuine commitment to promoting independence and inclusion.

• Ability to work flexibly in the community, adapting to individual needs.
