This is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, an innovative, industry-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy known for lending their expertise to projects across the Engineering and Environmental landscapes. They are on the lookout for an experienced, talented Senior Hydraulic Modeller who is willing to take on an array of projects across a variety of sectors, based near the historic, richly-cultural town of Taunton.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:

  • Supervising a high-performing team of colleagues
  • Producing hydraulic models and surveys
  • Checking colleagues' work prior to publishing
  • Analysing and interpreting data using a variety of software systems, to prepare/check/publish reports
  • Supervising preparation of plans utilising MapInfo
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients as well as public and private stakeholders
  • Attending site visits and other meetings on behalf of the company
  • Managing projects and people
  • Adhering to industry standards, regulations, and the appropriate health and safety measures at all times

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:

  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Hydrology or Civil Engineering (or a similar, relevant discipline)
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK consultancy (or Local Authority) setting
  • Experience of wastewater modelling
  • Proficient in the use of InfoWorks ICM (1D and 2D), and other relevant software packages
  • Experience of liaising closely with a variety of clients and stakeholders
  • Full, valid UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:

  • Hold Chartered Status, or actively working to attain this
  • Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region
  • Working knowledge of a range of other software systems used within the flood risk, drainage, and hydrology sectors
