- Provide tailored advice and assistance to individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
- Help applicants explore their housing options and secure suitable accommodation.
- Manage a caseload of clients alongside participation in a duty rota (approximately 2 days per week in the office).
- Offer timely referrals and signposting to appropriate support services including mental health, welfare, domestic abuse and substance misuse support.
- Work in partnership with internal departments and external agencies to prevent homelessness and reduce rough sleeping.
- Ensure all casework complies with statutory duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act and relevant housing legislation.
- Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service improvement through effective data collection and feedback.
- Experience working in housing advice or homelessness prevention services.
- Strong knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Able to manage a varied caseload while working flexibly across duty cover and remote working arrangements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with vulnerable individuals.
- Confident using case management systems and working within performance targets.
