7.5 tonne Driver

Job Title: 7.5 Tonne Driver/Loader
Location: Hayedown Depot
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (early starts, occasional weekends/overtime as required)

To carry out the safe and effective collection of household waste, recycling, and commercial refuse using a 7.5 tonne vehicle. This role includes both driving and loading responsibilities, ensuring a high standard of service is delivered to the local community.

• Operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle in accordance with legal, safety, and company standards.

• Carry out collection rounds for domestic, recycling, and commercial waste.

• Assist with manual loading of bins and sacks as required.

• Ensure vehicle checks are completed daily and defects are reported promptly.

• Complete all required paperwork and digital records accurately.

• Work cooperatively with loaders and supervisors to meet daily service targets.

• Follow designated routes and schedules while adapting to any necessary changes.

• Maintain a professional and courteous manner with members of the public.

• Uphold health and safety standards at all times, ensuring safe working practices for yourself and your team.

• Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns promptly to the line manager.

• Keep the vehicle clean, presentable, and roadworthy.

• Valid UK driving licence with Category C1 (7.5 tonne entitlement).

• Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

• Good level of physical fitness for manual handling tasks.

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

• Basic understanding of health and safety practices.

• Previous experience in waste collection or similar driver/loader role.

• Familiarity with the local area around Hayedown.
