Your new company

Hays Senior Finance is working exclusively with this leading global service provider who have operations in multiple countries across the world. The UK division, headquartered in Telford, is looking for an Accountant to make an impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Your new role

As the Accountant, you will be a vital part of the UK finance team. You will be a detail-oriented finance professional and oversee key financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and financial compliance. Along with the above, other duties for the role will involve:

  • Manage the Accounts Payable team, including performance reviews and ensuring efficient, accurate processing.
  • Oversee daily cash postings.
  • Maintain accurate cash flow forecasting.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, post depreciation entries, and ensure all related balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.
  • Provide monthly overhead analysis to support cost management.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of creditor, debtor, and intercompany balance sheet accounts against the trial balance.
  • Prepare and post accruals and prepayments in line with month-end timelines.
  • Support the external year-end audit process.
  • Provide timely responses to auditor queries.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analysis when required.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency within the finance function.
  • Manage the payroll process for UK staff members
  • Produce and report monthly UK management accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist in year-end financial statements
  • Ensure a smooth month-end close by managing deadlines, tracking progress, and guiding team members to meet expectations.
  • Manage UK VAT return submissions and oversee VAT compliance across EU registrations and submissions.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have experience of producing management accounts. They will be happy to work to tight deadlines and ideally have experience of VAT.

What you'll get in return

This job comes with hybrid working (3 days in the office and 2 days at home), working hours of 9-5 (can be flexible with these if needed), 20 days holiday + stats, private healthcare, up to a 5% bonus per annum. You will also be able to buy up to 10 days of annual leave per annum and the company also gives all employees their birthday off as holiday.
