The role

Our client is a globally recognized, industry-leading manufacturer situated in Telford, who has a superb opportunity for a skilled Design Engineer to join their Technical Department.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the design and development of automated machinery, equipment and component parts
  • Redesigning the configuration of existing equipment to improve functionality, reliability and longevity
  • Developing proposals and solutions to optimise the quality of production output
  • Supporting the drafting of Technical Manuals in line with agreed company standards
  • Ensuring equipment, parts and other materials are ordered in a cost-effective, responsible and auditable manner
  • Ensuring quality standards, including ISO9001 & 1SO14001, are maintained
  • Ensuring all project work is undertaken in a safe, responsible and timely manner, keeping relevant stakeholders informed of progress and completion deadlines

What you'll need

  • A minimum of an HNC or Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficient with Autodesk (essential)
  • Time-served within a manufacturing background (FMCG or similar is highly desirable)

  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas and concepts to a range of stakeholders
