Van Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled van driver for a client based in Stafford Park. This role involves moving furniture and driving a vehicle for the purpose of transporting goods efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving. Excellent communication skills are essential for liaising with warehouse staff and clients.

The role will require up to 3 overnight stays per week. There will be heaving lifting involved. Suitable candidates must be over 25 for insurance purpsoes and must hold a valad CSCS card.

Duties

• Stripping various items of furniture and loading the van.
• Operate the vehicle to deliver goods to various locations, ensuring timely and safe transport.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order, addressing any mechanical issues as necessary.
• Load and unload furniture, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues that may arise during transport.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road.
• Assist with warehouse duties as required, including inventory management and organisation.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driving licence with experience in van driving.
• Previous warehouse experience is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and clients effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Heavy lifting and manual handling knowledge.
