Our client, a leading name in the UK infrastructure sector, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Rail Surveyor to join their dynamic surveying team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical rail projects across the country.
The Role:
Supporting Senior Surveyors and Project Managers, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of small to medium survey projects. You will be the key person on the ground, ensuring data is captured accurately and efficiently to keep projects on track.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting a range of essential rail surveys, including:
-
Plain Line Topographic Rail Surveys
-
Fence to Fence Boundary Surveys
-
S&C (Switches & Crossings) Rail Surveys
-
Platform & Structure Gauging Surveys
-
Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) Surveys (Height & Stagger)
-
-
Office-based data processing to produce CAD drawings, gauging files, and registered point clouds.

Determining the most effective methodology for planning and executing survey tasks.

Managing, maintaining, and calibrating survey equipment.

Resolving unexpected technical difficulties on-site.

Ensuring full compliance with all QA/QC procedures and health & safety policies.
The Person: (Essential Requirements)
To be successful in this role, you will need:

A proven background as a Land / Rail Surveyor withminimum of 2 years' experience.

A valid PTS ticket is essential.

Experience in conducting topographical surveys usingRobotic Total Stations & GNSS.

A solid understanding of survey techniques including Control Networks, GNSS surveys, Traversing, and Levelling.

Proficiency in usingCAD software(e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).

Experience in office data processing and drawing production.

The ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit site team.

Excellent and clear communication skills.

A full UK driving licence.

Flexibility to work the requirednight shifts (Mon-Thurs) and weekends, and a willingness to travel to various sites.
The following would be highly advantageous:

Experience with HDS Laser Scanning.

Experience using Track Measuring Devices (TMDs).
