Senior Data Engineer - UK Hybrid | SC Cleared | £Competitive + Excellent Benefits

Permanent | Major UK Government Programme | Azure / AWS / ETL / Python

Are you a skilled Data Engineer ready to work on some of the UK's most impactful technology challenges? We're working with a leading technology company supporting a major UK Government programme, and they're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their dynamic, forward-thinking team.

This is a permanent role, open to candidates UK-wide, with remote working and ad-hoc travel to client or internal sites. You must hold (or be eligible for) SC clearance.

The Role

You'll play a key role in designing and delivering robust, secure, and scalable data solutions. Working across a range of projects, you'll collaborate with technical teams, partners, and stakeholders to deliver modern, high-performing data environments.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing data pipelines for analytics and BI systems

  • Maintaining and operating data platforms and streaming systems

  • Debugging, optimising and supporting complex data workflows

  • Leading on data architecture and platform evaluation

  • Supporting data migration, integration, and transformation activities

  • Playing a hands-on role in delivery planning and risk mitigation

What You'll Need
  • Strong experience with ETL tools like SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Glue

  • Cloud platform experience in AWS or Azure, including data services like Power BI or Pentaho

  • Solid understanding of Python and its data science/ML libraries

  • Agile delivery experience with task estimation and dependency management

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Bonus if you have:

  • Hadoop / Jenkins experience

  • Azure or AWS certifications

  • Familiarity with Java
