Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for a Electro Mechanical Technician on a permanent basis for our client based in Telford.
Hours
Monday - Thursday - 8:30am - 5:15pm
Friday - 8:30am - 12:30pm
Pay
Negotiable dependent on experience
Description and key responsibilities as an Electro Mechanical Technician:
- Assemble precision measurement machines, jigs, and fixtures using mechanical and electrical components
- Work collaboratively within a skilled team of engineers, fitters, and wiremen
- Build complete machines from component level to finished product
- Proficient in bench fitting and mechanical assembly
- Able to make minor adjustments using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders
- Skilled in using measurement tools (e.g., DTI, gauge blocks) to check geometric tolerances
- Experienced in assembling pneumatic systems and interpreting pneumatic schematics
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities
- Able to read and work from detailed engineering and assembly drawings
- Competent in electrical panel wiring and reading electrical/electronic schematics
- Basic understanding of stepper motors, control systems, sensors, and BUS systems is a plus
- Capable of fault-finding on DC control systems
Qualifications and skill required as an Electro Mechanical Technician:
Essential Qualifications:
- Engineering Level 3 qualification or equivalent hands-on experience
- HNC in Engineering is a plus
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Able to read technical drawings and carry out fault finding
- Comfortable working alone or in a team
- Reliable and hard-working
- Goal-driven and focused
- Confident and professional
- Friendly, committed, and team-oriented
- Ability to work in a challenging environment, under pressure and to time scales
- Working hours flexibility
