My Telford based client is currently recruiting for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager
Salary – up to £45k depending on experience

As the Health, Safety and Environmental  Manager you will be reporting to the HR Director and Managing Directors.Â
You will be responsible for the entire Health, Safety and Environmental Department having a small team of three reporting into you. It is essential you demonstrate an excellent competency level within your profession, with minimal support.
Responsibilities
- Continual development of Health & Safety Management System
- Manage and co-ordinate both Environmental and Health & Safety Projects, providing updates
- Manage and support the internal and external audit programme.
- Provide guidance on H&S legislation
- The review of current Risk Assessments
- Creating and publishing of Risk Assessments
- Report key Health and Safety statistics, presenting to the board of directors
- Heavily involved with assisting with the publishing of Safe Systems of Work and Commissioning process.
- Raising all Permits to Work and associated documentation for outside contractors
- Overseeing and in charge of overall environmental practices; waste management, water & pollution control, energy & carbon and sustainability
- Working collectively with customers in respect to the overall environmental strategy
Skills and experience
- Experience of Environmental compliance
- Knowledge of Environmental legislation
- Managing compliance in multi-site environment
- Experience within Food Manufacturing (although not essential)
- Advantageous to have good knowledge or understanding of the following areas: legionella, radiation, PUWER and Fire Safety
- Ideally knowledge and experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001
- Full Driving Licence, as you will be expected to travel between sites
- Experience of managing compliance in a multi-site environment
- Knowledge of COSHH Regulations
- Understanding of various environmental legislative laws (Environmental Protection Act, Waste Regulations and Environmental Permitting Regulations
- Advantageous to have an in date MHE instructor qualification to assist with internal training requirements
Qualifications
- NEBOSH or IOSH
- IEMA or working towards
- Train the Trainer
- First Aid, Fire Marshall, MHE
