Plant Logistics Operator

Department: Plant Logistics

Reports To: Logistics Gap Leader

 

Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Plant Logistics Operator to join our team in Telford. This role is key to maintaining the smooth flow of materials through our manufacturing plant, ensuring production plans are met efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have experience using SAP, a solid understanding of inventory control, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a continuous and efficient supply of materials to production areas in line with manufacturing schedules.
  • Maintain accurate stock control through the SAP system, ensuring all material movements are recorded correctly.
  • Manage and monitor inventory levels, reporting discrepancies or shortages promptly.
  • Operate flexi orhigh-lift trucks (if qualified) to transport materials safely around the site.
  • Work closely with production, planning, and logistics teams to meet daily operational targets.
  • Uphold 5S standards and maintain a clean, organised work environment.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the logistics department.

 

Experience & Skills Required

  • SAP experienceis essential.
  • Experience in inventory control or materials handling within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative to solve problems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Flexi or High-Lift Truck licence (preferred but not essential).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

 

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30
  • Friday: 08:00 - 13:30
  • Flexibility is required to meet departmental needs.
