Aspire People is currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive primary special school catering for pupils aged 5 to 11. The school supports children with a range of identified needs, including cognition and learning difficulties, communication and interaction needs, emotional, social and mental health challenges, and sensory or physical difficulties.
We are seeking a passionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a real difference in the lives of young learners who require additional support to thrive.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher and SEN staff.
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions.
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils reach their individual goals.
- Encouraging social and emotional development through positive relationships.
- Supporting with personal care needs when required.
- Helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all pupils.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential).
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with children.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
