Employment Solicitor / Legal Executive – 3 to 5+ PQETelford (Hybrid – 1 Day WFH) | Full-Time | Permanent An outstanding opportunity has arisen with a well-regarded regional law firm, known for its strong presence in the employment law space and its progressive, people-centred culture. About the Role:This is a hands-on, client-facing role within a well-resourced employment team. You’ll advise an established portfolio of retained business clients – typically SMEs across professional sectors such as independent schools, care homes, and GP practices.Roughly 25–30% of the role will involve managing a diverse Employment Tribunal caseload, primarily defending claims on behalf of employers. The remaining portion focuses on proactive HR and employment law advisory work, supporting businesses subscribed to the firm’s nationally recognised Alpha HR service. This includes:
  • Providing commercial, solutions-led advice on day-to-day HR and employee relations issues
  • Drafting bespoke contracts, policies, and HR documentation
  • Attending client premises (e.g., co-chairing disciplinary and grievance hearings)
  • Delivering employment law training for managers
Who They're Looking For:The successful candidate will bring:
  • A solid track record of handling Employment Tribunal matters
  • Experience advising employer clients on a retained or regular basis
  • The confidence to build rapport with a variety of clients and to deliver pragmatic, clear advice
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A detail-focused, proactive approach, and a talent for thinking commercially
Additional experience delivering HR/employment training is welcomed, though not essential.
