We are hiring for a QA Raw Material Technologist who will be responsible for ensuring raw materials meet our standards and specifications and co-ordinate the continuous improvement of raw material supply. In addition to supporting budget setting and driving down the cost of packaging waste and faulty raw materials.

Location - Telford

Contract - Full-time, 12 month FTC.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintain awareness of the Muller standard testing requirements to ensure the site remains compliant at all times.
  • Accurately record results of raw materials testing.
  • Review the incoming material delivery schedule and develop a weekly inspection plan to meet the requirements of the site testing schedule for incoming goods.
  • Support the raw materials specialist and the raw material planners to ensure any specific testing priorities are considered when developing the weekly inspection plan.
  • Follow the appropriate SOP for the raw material being tested to ensure accurate assessment of quality for the batch received.
  • Organise testing cover to account for periods of planned absence.
  • Create a positive commitment to hygiene and safety to improve standards and remove potential issues and hazards.
  • Drive line performance through coaching of line operators and support managers in the improvement of OEE.

Requirements:

  • Packaging related apprenticeship or similar.
  • Achieved or working to a Level 3 in QA or Raw Material related topic.
  • HACCP Level 2.
  • Food Safety Level 2.
  • Previous laboratory experience.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a busy environment.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using SAP modules is desirable.
  • Experience writing technical reports is desirable.
