Are you a seasoned logistics and material planning professional with a passion for operational excellence? A leading global Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry is looking for a Materials Manager to join its dynamic team in Telford.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-performing production environment, overseeing the flow of materials, ensuring delivery performance, and driving continuous improvement across material logistics and inventory functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate material flow and delivery adherence across the shop floor
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Material Planners (MPL)
  • Drive 100% inventory accuracy and delivery performance
  • Implement lean principles and enhance logistics operations
  • Manage supplier relationships and improve delivery performance
  • Use MRP systems for material planning and support new product launches
  • Maintain and optimise the FLT/Tugger fleet
  • Oversee and improve inventory control and stock accuracy procedures
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to solve logistical challenges


Your Background:

  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing and material handling
  • Proven leadership in managing people and logistics operations
  • Strong knowledge of material planning and lean manufacturing principles
  • Competency with MRP systems and high IT literacy
  • Budget management experience
