The Technical Sales Engineer will work closely with customers and internal teams to evaluate part requirements, ensure manufacturability, develop accurate quotes, and provide expert technical guidance throughout the sales process.
Key Responsibilities Technical Sales & Customer Support-
Serve as a technical expert during customer engagements, sales calls, and project reviews

Review customer drawings, models, and specifications to assess manufacturability and cost drivers

Recommend materials, processes, tolerances, and design improvements to meet performance and cost targets

Support sales efforts by providing technical justification and solutions aligned with customer needs

Develop or support accurate quoting and estimating for CNC-machined components
-
Collaborate with engineering, programming, and production teams to confirm feasibility, lead times, and costs
-
Translate customer requirements into clear internal documentation for production planning
-
Assist in risk assessment for new jobs and complex components
-
Build strong technical relationships with customers, acting as a trusted manufacturing advisor
-
Support existing accounts while assisting in new customer acquisition
-
Respond to technical questions, RFQs, and design inquiries
-
Support issue resolution by coordinating between customers and internal teams
-
Identify opportunities for additional services, value engineering, and long-term partnerships
-
Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
-
Participate in customer visits, trade shows, and industry events as a technical representative
-
3+ years of CNC machining experience (mills, lathes, or multi-axis)

Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, materials, tolerances, and GD&T
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Customer-focused mindset with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Interest in transitioning into a technical sales or sales engineering role
-
Experience with quoting, estimating, or process planning

Exposure to CAD/CAM software and ERP/MRP systems
-
Previous customer-facing or cross-functional collaboration experience

Background in high-precision or regulated industries (aerospace, medical, defense, automotive)
