Engineering Shift Team Leader
Location: Tewkesbury
Shift Pattern:
Week 1: Monday to Saturday, 06:00–14:00
Week 2: Monday to Friday, 13:45–21:45

We are working with a well-established, long-standing manufacturing business seeking an experienced Engineering Shift Team Leader to join their operation in Tewkesbury. This is a shift-based, on-the-floor leadership role supporting Engineering across a busy Production and Distribution environment.

The successful candidate will provide hands-on support to engineers, act as a point of escalation for maintenance issues, and deliver high standards of workmanship across a range of automated and high-speed machinery. An electrical bias is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Engineering Manager in delivering departmental objectives
• Supervise, train, and mentor Engineers through practical guidance and support
• Coordinate and deliver planned and preventative maintenance schedules
• Carry out repairs and testing of electrical and mechanical plant equipment
• Undertake electrical and mechanical fault-finding
• Support with administrative tasks, paperwork, and record keeping
• Assist with mentoring Apprentices where required
• Deputise for the Engineering Manager in their absence
• Provide holiday cover for Engineers and support staff
• Participate in equipment breakdown call-out on a rota basis

Key Skills & Experience:
• Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification (minimum requirement)
• Experience working with high-speed machinery, ideally within an FMCG environment
• Strong knowledge of automated machinery
• Proven ability to perform electrical fault-finding to a high standard
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Adaptable with the ability to manage changing priorities
• Able to work to tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work
• Strong communicator with the ability to foster excellent working relationships
• Previous experience in supervision or people management
