The Role - Skilled Machinist/ Toolmaker
This is an excellent opportunity for a Skilled Machinist to join a prominent Aerospace Manufacturing company in Tewkesbury centred on aerospace component output.
You will be skilled a range of machining processes including Setting and Operating CNC Mills and lathes, whilst it would also being skilled in manual counterparts. It would be beneficial to also have exposure to some or all of the following processes: manual machining, honing, grinding etc..
Duties - Skilled Machinist/Toolmaker
- Set, operate and perform manual and CNC machining processes.
- Utilise machining processes: Milling, Turning, Grinding, Honing, EDM, and Assembly.
- Carry out all set-ups for products routed through the machining process.
- Provide advice on the design of fixtures, programs, and tools.
- Conduct self-inspections and complete necessary quality audits.
- Utilise approved engineering drawings, inspection plans, and shop documentation.
- Adopt and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Basic preventative maintenance on machinery.
Background - Skilled Machinist/ Toolmaker
- Experience within a tool room or single piece manufacture environment would be advantageous
- A recognized apprenticeship in engineering.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong timekeeping and attendance record.
