With a history of over 150 years and an excellent reputation for client service, the firm continues to grow while remaining firmly rooted in the local community.This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to shape and develop a high-performing team, handle a quality caseload, and contribute to the firm's wider strategic goals.The RoleThe successful candidate will take responsibility for leading the residential conveyancing department at the firm's flagship office. They will provide technical expertise, day-to-day oversight of team members, and drive the growth of the department through business development and relationship-building.Key Responsibilities
- Leading and managing the Residential Conveyancing team in Thame
- Handling a full caseload of freehold and leasehold transactions from instruction to completion, including remortgages, transfers of equity, new builds, shared ownership leases, and declarations of trust
- Overseeing compliance, risk management, and quality assurance within the team
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with local estate agents, brokers, referrers, and clients
- Preparing contracts, supporting documents, and official copies
- Managing post-completion procedures and ensuring accurate, timely billing
- Contributing to recruitment, training, and mentoring of junior team members
- Using the firm's case management system and ensuring effective workflow processes
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Legal Executive with substantial residential conveyancing experience
- Proven track record of managing a team and handling complex transactions
- Strong technical knowledge of the conveyancing process, including leasehold and portfolio work
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Commercially aware and comfortable with business development activities
- High attention to detail, able to meet tight deadlines under pressure
