With offices across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and a strong reputation built over more than 170 years, the firm offers a progressive, supportive environment with a clear path for career development.This role will report to the Head of Private Client and involve managing a varied caseload of private client matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work from more than one of the firm's offices and contribute to the continued growth and development of the department.Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on wills, estate planning, inheritance tax, trusts, probate, and lasting powers of attorney
  • Handling taxable estate administration, trust creation and administration, and Court of Protection matters
  • Supporting the team with incoming instructions and contributing to overall departmental success
  • Attending client meetings, including home, care home, and hospital visits when required
  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence to a high standard
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and liaising with local professionals
  • Using case management systems and ensuring billing is timely and accurate
  • Participating in marketing, networking, and promotional activities to raise the firm's profile

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3-8+ years' PQE in private client law
  • Proven experience in will drafting, estate administration, and powers of attorney
  • Knowledge or interest in agricultural and business property relief is an advantage
  • Experience in trust administration and deputyship applications is desirable
  • STEP membership is essential; membership of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers is advantageous
  • Excellent technical drafting skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a client-focused, professional approach
  • Comfortable with business development and using legal technology, including case management systems
