- Lead the design and development of Engineering projects, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
- Apply DFx principles (Cost, Manufacture, Assembly, Test) to enhance product development.
- Oversee internal and external testing with the Laboratories team.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve product issues and improve customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including design files and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise product quality and cost efficiency.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software
- Experience in Mechanical product design and strong understanding of engineering drawings.
- Technical expertise in material strengths and engineering processes to facilitate effective design for manufacturing.
- Confident user of PDM / PLM tools and understanding of BOM and change control.
- Familiarity with relevant IEC standards
